That works out to 27 cents a ring, at your door. Buy 500 anywhere else and you are looking at about thirty cents a ring before freight, and freight on an eleven pound box is real money. We put the shipping in the price so the number you see is the number you pay.

A cull ring is a simple part. It only has one job, hold its size, season after season. Ours are molded right here in our Baltimore shop, not pulled off a container from overseas, and every run gets measured before it ships.

Where 2-5/16" is the legal ring

Ring rules change at the state line, and a lot of suppliers gloss over it. Here is where this ring is the right part, cited to the regulation:

• Maryland, Chesapeake Bay and tributaries: pots need two rings, one at least 2-3/16" and one at least 2-5/16". This is the larger ring. (COMAR 08.02.03.07)
• Maryland coastal bays: two 2-5/16" rings, one upper, one lower. This is both. (COMAR 08.02.03.12)
• Virginia, seaside of Accomack and Northampton: one 2-5/16" and one 2-3/16". This is the larger ring. (4VAC20-700-20)
• North Carolina: at least three rings of 2-5/16". This is all three.

Not for Virginia Bay water. Virginia's Bay and tributaries require two rings of at least 2-3/8". A 2-5/16" ring is undersized there. Delaware does not require cull rings. Full detail by state is on our cull ring requirements page.

Sized to spec against the regulation minimum, so a warden's gauge passes and you're covered in the water listed above.

Molded in rigid polypropylene with UV additive, so it holds up to sun and salt instead of going brittle and cracking out of the pot in a season or two. Floats, fits standard coated wire pots, installs with hog rings, no special hardware.
