Several states hand out escape rings and turtle excluders to licensed crabbers to bring a fleet into compliance fast. Mississippi DMR gave rings free to every licensed resident crabber when its 2-3/8" rule took effect in 2017. Derelict trap programs on the Gulf and the Chesapeake distribute gear to the boats that help them. Sea Grant programs run workshops that put a ring and a device in the fisherman's hand.
Those programs need a domestic source that can hold a spec, document it, and deliver a quantity on a date. That's what we do.
What we can supply
- Escape rings, 2-5/16" inside diameter, UV-stabilized polypropylene, measured every run. Additional sizes, including 2-3/8", are a tooling decision we'll make for a program quantity.
- Turtle excluder devices to the Maryland, Delaware and New York spec (1-3/4" x 4-3/4") in production now. The 2" x 6" New Jersey and Florida spec is a tooling decision we'll make for a program quantity.
- Door hooks for pot-rebuild programs.
- Aluminum cull sticks in any legal gauge, for enforcement and education kits.
